St Brendan's A-level Fine Art and History of Art students travelled to London for the day to visit the critically acclaimed Ai Weiwei exhibition at Royal Academy of Arts.
The Ai Weiwei exhibition
Ai Weiwei is an international contemporary artist whose work deals with political conflicts and his fight for freedom of expression in China. This was a rare chance for the St Brendan’s students to see a retrospective of such an important artist at one of London's most respected galleries.
The students also explored galleries around Piccadilly including the notable White Cube Gallery at Mason's Yard, which showcased a group exhibition on the aesthetic, social and political symbolism of textile craft.
