This year, the group of students will take on The National Theatre’s adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, and will be performing this at College on Wednesday 2nd, Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th December. As well as performing the show in front of a home crowd, the group will be touring their production around to local primary schools, and last week they got some practice!

The group, along with Drama teacher Rachel Crosbie, visited Broomhill Junior School to do some workshops with the primary school children and gave them a sneak preview of the upcoming production. The St Brendan’s students ran workshops with two Year 4 classes, with the aim of getting children involved and interested in drama from an early age. Both groups of the 8 year olds enjoyed the sessions and were thrilled to see glimpses of a theatrical performance of Beauty and the Beast.

Said Drama teacher Rachel Crosbie, “The afternoon at Broomhill Juniors was hard work for us all but great fun! The students are incredibly dedicated and captured the imaginations of the Year 4s instantly. It’s exciting to see the group progress as they head towards the Christmas production of Beauty and the Beast
