First Year Business Studies students put their best sales pitches into practice recently, as they took part in the St Brendan’s Dragons Den event.
A team pitching their idea
Over 30 students were tasked with working in small teams to create a business idea, which they then had to pitch to a panel of local entrepreneurs and traders. A range of innovative and inspiring business ideas were shared and all groups presented their projects well.
Congratulations to the winning team – Jamie Hawkins, Ahmed Omar and Emma Stephens. The group created the phone app Sportify, which allows users to identify local sports clubs and events, and enables them to get more involved with sports groups in the community. The panel of judges were all incredibly impressed with the interesting ideas presented to them, and found it challenging to pick a winning team.
