Students have one year in which to re-study and re-sit their GCSE exams in Maths and English; however after a fresh start at a new College, many students find they are able to secure their grades just three months into the academic year – and we couldn’t be more proud!

Amongst the delighted achievers was 16 year old Ellie Dixon. Ellie joined St Brendan’s from Broadlands Academy and was thrilled to have discovered she secured 4s in both her GCSE English and Maths re-sits. Ellie now looks forward to concentrating fully on her Level 3 studies in Sport. Meanwhile friend and peer Denisa Roset is also celebrating, after joining College in September with the required grade in Maths but not English, the determined teen had to re-sit her English GCSE and today discovered she had secured the grade. Denisa is happy to now be concentrating on her A-levels in Business and Spanish.

Darnell Ford was another student to join the many in double delight. The 17 year old, originally from Hanham Woods Academy, also obtained 4s in both Maths and English today and will be stepping up to an A-level programme from September. Darnell will be pursuing his love for all things creative in his studies of A-level Graphics, Media and BTEC Music Technology.

Huge congratulations to all of our GCSE success students! We look forward to following their journey as they continue into the world of Level 3.
