Before the Christmas break, Public Service students across all levels of the course were lucky enough to be invited to the new fire station in Keynsham, which opened last April.

The group were given advice on the application and recruitment process, the exciting work experience opportunities and spoke about the skills and qualities required to become a Fire Officer. The students learned a great deal about the day to day running of the station, shift patterns and tasks undertaken by the fire-fighters. It was a great learning experience for all, with many students interested in the career path; they found it a valuable and insightful experience. The group had lots of fun too; relishing opportunities to try the equipment, dress up in the safety gear and use the hoses!
