Sport students enjoyed taking part in the Inclusive Community Training Programme last week.
The students enjoying a practical challenge
The three-hour workshop, led by expert David Carpenter, focused on how the students could develop their own sport sessions to welcome and develop disabled people of all ages and abilities through physical activity. The session was highly informative for the group and encouraged them to explore creative ideas to support disabled people to access sport, and taught them about local disability sport opportunities.
Through a combination of discussion and practical games, the group learnt a range of skills which can be used to support their learning in College and even used within their future careers in the sporting world.
