Three St Brendan’s students have recently been elected Bristol City Youth Council members after campaigning and standing in the city wide Bristol Big Youth Vote.

Bristol City Council set up the Youth Council a few years ago, to try to ensure that ‘children and young people can express their views on the decisions that are important to them and that their opinions are voiced and heard. They can make positive changes in their communities and make a difference to the young people of Bristol’.

George, Shaheim and Sam were elected in February and are already hard at work. They have been to two meetings over half term which included visiting youth centres across South Bristol.

St Brendan's Vice Principal, Alexandra Moruzzi said 'We are extremely proud of George, Shaheim and Sam and are sure that they will do a fantastic job of representing the young people of South Bristol.'
