After the success of the Team Nineteen Tournament last year, St Brendan’s footballers were eager to arrange a second event.
Team Nineteen Players
Team Nineteen is part of the FA’s aim to encourage people to play football for fun and the enthusiasm was hugely evident throughout the Goals pitches. Joining our own enrichment and women’s teams were players from South Devon College, Wiltshire College, City of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.
After a day of great sportsmanship, the men’s final was between City of Bristol B v South Devon; with South Devon securing the win. The women’s final saw Wiltshire College battle our own St Brendan’s team; with the final score being 1-1. Unfortunately St Brendan’s women lost 4-2 in a tense penalty shootout. The tournament was played in fantastic spirit; we look forward to the next one!
