Textiles students enjoyed an inspirational trip recently to both the Royal West of England Academy and the Bristol Museum.
Students sketch ideas
The group of students used the day to start thinking about their controlled assignment ahead of them and gathered inspiration for their chosen themes.
Whilst at the RWA, the students enjoyed the Albert Irvin exhibition. Irvin was one of Britain’s most influential post-war painters and printmakers. Best known for his large-scale abstract paintings which are full of colour; a great source of inspiration for students!
From full colour Britain to Japan, students then enjoyed visiting the Bristol Museum’s Japanese Prints exhibition to widen their ideas. Whilst there, students photographed anything that caught their eye and sketched some initial ideas to take back to the College studio.
