Last week, a group of Year 12 students from St Brendan's had a superb day of training in the art and skills of mentoring, all provided by the professional services team at The University of the West of England (UWE).
The morning consisted of sessions on 'How to be an Effective Mentor' with practical tips and skills training. The afternoon saw students role-playing mentoring scenarios.
And as a special treat the UWE team gave them all free access to the mind-blowing VR activities that they have developed in their world-leading innovation lab. What a day!
After half term our students will be putting the theory of mentoring into action when they meet their Year 8 mentees at @bridgelearningcampus in South Bristol.
