2nd February 2023

Our sports teams have come up against some really tough opposition over the last couple of weeks.

The girls’ football team had a top of the table clash against last years’ champions Coleg y Cymoedd in Wales. It was a close, hard fought battle but unfortunately after picking up a couple of injuries they lost 3-0. Congratulations to Coleg y Cymoedd who now sit top of the table.

Our boys’ 2nd XI football team and girls’ netball team have both had fixtures against Bridgwater & Taunton College. The netballers lost 25-11 but great effort and work rate from the team meant that this was a much closer result than the last time the two met. The boys came out on top with a fantastic 3-0 victory.

The boy’s rugby team had to play last year's cup winners Exeter College (who beat us in the quarter final on the way to their cup win) and unfortunately were well beaten 52-19. There were stand out performances from Hayden P (who had never played rugby before joining St Brendan’s!) Tom M and Finley H. This season’s lack of full training facilities has been tough for the team and they are really looking forward to next season when St Brendan’s brand new full size 4G rugby pitch that is currently under construction will be complete and ready for them to train and play on.
