Congratulations to St Brendan’s student, Cormac O’Callaghan, who was recently crowned Young Coach of the Year at the 2014 West of England Celebration of Sport Evening.

This annual event, organised by the West of England Sport Trust (Wesport) celebrates the achievements of outstanding athletes, inspirational volunteers, great coaches and high quality clubs and organisations at an awards ceremony which this year was hosted by Steve Parry, 2004 Olympic Bronze Medallist for the 200m Butterfly. 

Cormac, who is captain of the College Basketball Team, was nominated by Guy Coles from Bristol Flyers Basketball Club, for his dedication, commitment, and passion for Basketball.  He has recently completed a Level 2 coaching award & has become an integral part of a successful sports programme run by Bristol Flyers. Cormac has been heavily involved with both the Under 14’s and Under 12’s teams, making a real difference to those teams.
