Dan McNamara (Web Developer)
Since leaving St Brendan's I have made a career for myself in the management of web development companies.
Starting out as a Project Manager, I've worked in lots of digital agencies in Bristol and London, sometimes full-time and sometimes as a freelancer. I've been an Account Manager and an Account Director, and I'm now Managing Director of a small company with 16 employees. Bristol's creative and technical industries are really thriving at the moment, so it's a great business to be in.
My biggest achievement in life so far, other than having two children, is probably starting my own company and growing it.
A piece of advice that I would offer current students is that you think you're busy, but you probably have more spare time and more energy now than you'll ever have. Take time to get involved in things you're interested in.
If I could have changed anything about my time at College it would be that I would have taught myself computer programming.
In ten years' time I hope I'll be running a much bigger company than the one I'm running now. Most importantly, I hope I'm still happy with life.
