Nick Crook - Founder of Boardies Apparel
Attended St Brendan's 1995-1997
Business Studies, Design & Technology and Communication Studies.
I loved my time at St Brendan’s and think the A Levels I did really helped spring board my career. I studied Business Studies, Design & Technology and Communication Studies, as I am very creative and had an interest in marketing. Much of what I learnt, I still use to this day running my own fashion business, as all three subjects I studied were relevant and provided me with sound academic foundations.
After Sixth Form, I went to Loughborough University Business School, graduating with a BSc Hons. Part of the degree included a placement year and I was lucky enough to get a job working for Reebok. From there I worked for various sports and fashion brands Umbro, Levi’s® and K-Swiss, before launching my own brand Boardies®.
Winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise is a huge honour and I am proud that my business has received such esteemed recognition. It goes to show hard work does pay off.”
