Since leaving St Brendan’s last year, I have begun studying an Art Foundation course at Weston College, alongside Independent Living with Cooking and Social Skills at the Weston Bay Hotel, to get ready for university this coming year. I am doing very well at this course and I love it so much – it’s a great stepping stone for those who want to go on to university!
After my Foundation course I am going to study (BA) Hons Textile Practices at Plymouth College of Art, which I'm really looking forward to after preparing for University life!
St Brendan's helped me to get to where I am today by consistently making sure I was on track with my coursework and revising for my exams. The staff were always there for me when I was stuck with my work and offered me advice and guidance; helping me to achieve my personal goals each year and progress.
The advice I would give to current students is ensure you pick the right courses that you excel in, as well as thinking about your future career. If you want something, you will have to work hard for it - you can do it!
In ten years’ time, I see myself as a bespoke textile designer from my own fashion business.
