On Wednesday 11th and 12th March I was invited to the National Science and Engineering Competition finals.

The event took place in Birmingham NEC and I was asked to showcase a research project I completed entitled ‘How Do Researchers Research?’ The conference centre was gigantic and filled to the brim with exhibit after exhibit of intriguing organisations; showcasing everything from dancers covered in LED lights to Dalek-programming at the Doctor Who station! It was a fascinating experience that enabled me to meet like-minded people and even celebrity science enthusiasts from the top of their field.

After a fantastic two days I encourage any student that has ever done a scientific project before, to consider entering it into the NSEC; you won’t believe where it can take you! (Article by student Tibaba Adeniyi)
