Being more Sustainable

Tips on things you can do to help

1. Study materials

Try to view study materials online and use e-books rather than textbooks. Whenever possible, take advantage of technology to reduce paper usage. Make notes on your computer, and only print things out if you really need to.

2. Use our recycling bins correctly!

We have bins located around the campus for all plastics, glass, paper, and aluminium.

3. Don’t buy bottled water

Save plastic and save money by bringing a resuable water bottle to College and using the water refill stations.

4. Merchandise

One of the perks of being a student is that you often get lots of offers for all kinds of free stuff! Try not to take things just for the sake of it. Accept what you really want and will use, avoid filling your room with things you know you’ll never use. At St Brendan’s we aim to make our merchandise more environmentally friendly going forward.

5. Cycle, walk or car share

Riding a bike is one of the most sustainable forms of transportation around, it’ll also help keep you fit and healthy! You can plan your cycle route here.
